Troop 159 Historian's Report
October 2007 - January 2008
By Nate C.
presented 02/09/2008

Two days after the last Court of Honor, or October 26 through the 28th, the troop went to the fall camporee at King's Mountain. Its theme was orienteering. October ended with Halloween and then November came and on the 3rd the troop placed flags on Veteran's graves. On November 10th Chris D. had his eagle project at the Golden Strip Relief Center. Then on the 15th the OA collected turkeys for the annual Gobbler Grab at the church. Many troop and church families donated. The next day the troop went to Brashier Campus and spent the weekend camping, on a conservation project, and Ben W's eagle project. Soon after, the troop went on another campout from December 7th to the 9th. This time it was to Daniel Boone and at Daniel Boone the troop always does some fishing. The 19th was the Popcorn Auction. The scouts spent auction dollars that they earned from selling popcorn. On December 21st and 22nd, the troop participated in the Goodfellows project to pack and hand out boxes of food at the Palmetto Expo Center. In the following year of 2008, more scouting took place. On January 4th through 6th the fossils had a retreat. The 18th through 21st the HA and the troop had separate campouts. The Troop went to Asbury Hills and the HA group went Winter Backpacking along the Chatooga River. Merit badge college was on January 26th and the BSA 98th birthday was yesterday!
