Historian's Report - October 2003
BY CHRIS A.

Since our last court of honor, Troop 159 has done lots of things. We started of going up to Cades Cove in Tennessee. Even though it was a long trip up, the scouts and scouters had lots of fun. We went on an 11-mile bike trek through the mountains. Everyone saw some wild life. We also saw some old houses. We also drove to a spot to swim. Two rivers connected there and made it really fun. Then we hiked up to a waterfall. It was a very long hike and the water was cold. Everyone enjoyed it though.

Next came the family campout. Not much to say except some of our families came and everyone had a great time.

Then, the overnight popcorn kickoff at the Church. We stayed up late. Some boys on the robotics team brought a robot that everyone liked. We also played in the gym and learned how to Indian dance. The next morning we went out to sell popcorn.

The OA fellowship campout was a blast for the OA members. They worked and won lots of awards.
After that there was a camporee up at Sloan's farm. Many troops gathered to have a wonderful time. Activities and games made it a great campout.

Finally, this past weekend was the adopt a highway on Maple Street. There wasn't a horribly large amount of trash. A small amount of boys and adults came. We managed to get in about 1.5 hours of service time.

This is what Troop 159 has done since the last court of honor.
